BACKGROUND

Toni began her career in 1972, graduating from Orchid Beauty Academy in Denver, Colorado.

1st. Job as a licensed hairdresser was Elizabeth XII Beauty Studio, where she reached the level of Salon Manager. 

After five years and for the rest of her career, Toni worked in Denver's prestigious Cherry Creek area. 

Toni began her educational opportunities working for The Wella Corporation as a Professional Action Team member for 8 years. Toni was fortunate to work side-by-side with Christopher & Sonia Dove, Yosh Toya, Sam Villa, and other professionals in the industry. During that time, Toni was the Manager/Trainer at Interhair Salons located in Denver/ Cherry Creek, Marina Square, and Washington Park Training Studio. She then advanced to the position of Chemical Director. Interhair was an Intercoiffure salon that compartmentalized in styling or chemical services. During this time, Toni first heard of Board Certification. 

In 1999 Toni opened her first business and achieved her ABCH certification, and in 2000, Toni was in the first group of evaluators for the American Board of Certified Haircolorists.

2011 Toni felt the need for a program to help candidates understand the criteria expected by the ABCH to become certified. She created the Certification Study Program. To date, Toni has a 100% pass rate for her candidates that took the certification.

The COLOURDRAGON Ent. and Toni continued her career as Salon owner, stylist, and educator until her retirement from behind the chair in 2017 to concentrate on education.

Now, as a Board Member and Education Director of The Board of Certified Haircolorists, Toni spends her time preparing, educating, and enjoying her life in her tiny hometown with her husband Steven of 49 years and her puppy China.
